"Government that tried to levy taxation system could never returned to power again": Shivsena

John Kerry announces India-US-Afghanistan trilateral talk

Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that the United States would launch trilateral talks with India and Afghanistan at next month's United Nations meetings in New York after strategy talks in New Delhi. Kerry, addressing a news conference, also denounced terrorism+ and said the perpetrators of attacks on Indian soil - in Mumbai in 2008 and at the Pathankot airbase last January - should be brought to justice.

"We cannot and will not make distinctions between good and bad terrorists," Kerry said. "Terror is terror no matter where it comes from, (or) who carries it out." India accuses Pakistan of responsibility for both attacks. Pakistan is trying suspects in the Mumbai attacks, in which 166 people died. Investigations into this year's airbase attack have so far been inconclusive.

The centre on Tuesday announced a hike in minimum wage for unskilled non-farm workers of the central government to Rs 350 a day, from the current Rs 246, in an attempt to mollify trade unions that have threatened to go on a nation-wide strike on Friday.

Interacting with reporters here, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also announced that the Bonus for 2014-15 and 2015-16 will be paid to central government employees based on revised norms. The Bonus Amendment Act will be implemented "strictly". He gave an assurance that the government will also take necessary steps to resolve the cases on payment of bonus pending in high courts and the Supreme Court. The likely financial implications of the bonus move translate into Rs 1,920 crore per annum.

यूजर को सिर्फ अपना आधार नंबर और अंगूठे का निशान देना होगा। इनके जरिए टेलीकॉम कंपनियां यूजर की जानकारी को निकाल पाएंगी। टेलीकॉम कंपनी वोडफोन ने आधार कार्ड के जरिए सत्यापन के निर्णय का स्वागत किया है। वोडाफोन ने दूरसंचार विभाग के साथ मिल कर इस प्रणाली का पायलट परीक्षण किया था जिसका दो सर्कलों में प्रयोग सफल रहा। वोडाफोन ने कहा है कि बहुत जल्द यूजर्स को आधार कार्ड के जरिए प्रीपेड और पोस्टपेड कनेक्शन मिल पाएंगे।

जवाहरलाल नेहरु यूनिवर्सिटी (जेएनयू) की एक छात्रा ने पीएचडी स्कॉलर पर रेप का आरोप लगाया है. छात्रा का कहना है कि पीएचडी स्कॉलर ने उसे हॉस्टल के रूम में बुलाकर उसके साथ रेप किया. छात्र जेएनयू में ऑल इंडिया स्टूडेंट्स एसोसिएशन (आइसा) की सदस्य है. वसंत कुंज थाना पुलिस ने आरोपी के खिलाफ केस दर्ज कर लिया है और मामले की जांच में जुटी है.

क्या है पूरा मामला?

पुलिस के मुताबिक, आरोपी अनमोल जेएनयू में पीएचडी कर रहा है. वह जेएनयू के ब्रह्मपुत्र हॉस्टल के 335 नंबर रूम में रहता है. शनिवार रात उसने छात्रा को किसी बहाने से अपने रूम में बुलाया और उसे शारीरिक संबंध बनाने को कहा. छात्रा के ऐसा करने से इनकार करने पर आरोपी ने उसका रेप किया. छात्रा की मेडिकल जांच में रेप की पुष्टि हुई है. फिलहाल आरोपी फरार है. पुलिस उसकी तलाश में जुटी है.

हाई कोर्ट का आदेश- पासपोर्ट बनवाने के लिए जरूरी नहीं पिता का नाम

दिल्‍ली हाईकोर्ट ने एक आदेश में कहा है कि पासपोर्ट बनवाने के लिए पिता का नाम होना कोई जरूरी नहीं है। कोर्ट ने तुरंत याचिकाकर्ता को पासपोर्ट उपलब्‍ध कराने का भी आदेश दिया है।

नई दिल्ली (पीटीआई) पासपोर्ट बनवाने के लिए पिता का नाम दर्ज कराना जरूरी नहीं है। पासपोर्ट प्राधिकार किसी को अपने आवेदन में पिता का नाम दर्ज करने के लिए दबाव नहीं बना सकता है। हाई कोर्ट ने यह टिप्पणी करते हुए क्षेत्रीय पासपोर्ट कार्यालय को पिता के नाम के बगैर ही याचिकाकर्ता युवक को तीन कार्यदिवस के भीतर पासपोर्ट जारी करने का निर्देश दिया है।

बता दें कि पाकिस्तान के विदेश सचिव एजाज चौधरी ने सोमवार को इस्लामाबाद में भारत से हाई कमिश्नर गौतम बंबेवाला को बुलाकर विदेश सचिव एस जयशंकर के लिए एक चिट्ठी दी. इस चिट्ठी में जयशंकर को इस्लामाबाद आकर जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुद्दे पर बात करने का न्योता दिया गया. यही बयान विदेश मामलों पर पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ के सलाहकार सरताज अजीज ने दिया था. हालांकि ये न्योता तब दिया गया है जब भारत ये साफ कर चुका है कि कश्मीर पर पाकिस्तान से कोई बात होगी तो वो पीओके पर होगी. वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने इस्लामाबाद में आयोजित सार्क सम्मलेन में हिस्सा लेने से इनकार कर दिया.

Australia has agreed to close a controversial asylum centre in Papua New Guinea (PNG)

PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill said in a statement he had met Australia's immigration minister, Peter Dutton, in Port Moresby on Wednesday.

"Both PNG and Australia are in agreement that Manus Island centre is to be closed," the statement said.

PNG's High Court found in April that detaining asylum seekers and refugees at the centre was unconstitutional.

A Malaysian oil tanker carrying 900,000 litres of diesel has been hijacked and taken to Indonesian waters.

The MT Vier Harmoni was reportedly sailing from Tanjung Pelepas port in Malaysia on Monday when it was seized.
The identity of the hijackers is not yet known.

मोदी सरकार को मिला नीतीश कुमार का साथ, बिहार विधानसभा में GST बिल पास

बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार चाहते हैं कि जीएसटी पूरे देश में एक अप्रैल 2017 से लागूहो जाए.

मंगलवार को बिहार विधानमंडल के दोनों सदनों ने सर्वसम्मति से जीएसटी के प्रस्ताव को पारित कर दिया. हालांकि मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने जीएसटी को राज्यों के लिए लाभदायक बताया और साथ ही कई सुझाव भी दिए.

नीतीश कुमार के मुताबिक नई टैक्स प्रणाली की रूप रेखा को अंतिम रूप देने के क्रम में अभीभी कई मुद्दे हैं, जिनपर केन्द्र और राज्यों की सहमति बनानी जरूरी है.

1. व्यापार जगत को किसी भी हालत में केन्द्र और राज्य दोनों के अधिकारियों के पास जाने की जरूरत न हो.

2. टैक्स के निर्धारण में इस बात का ध्यान अवश्य रखा जाए, इनके कारण मुद्रास्फीति में वृद्धि न हो परंतु राजस्व में कमी न हो.
