Indian basketball team stuns China

Amritpal Singh helped India script a historic win against China on Tuesday in the FIBA Asia Challenge in Tehran. Despite trailing their opponents 27-18 during the second quarter, India fought back superbly to register a 70-64 victory over the Chines thus keeping quarter-final hopes alive.

India's Basketball team on Tuesday, won their second match over higher-ranked opponents China in the FIBA Asia Challenge, in what was a stunning victory. The Indians won the match 70-64 handing the Chinese their first loss of the tournament.

Devendra jhajharia breaks world record at Rio Paralympic 2016

Javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia became the first Indian to clinch two gold medals at the Paralympics after he broke his own world record to clinch the top honours at the Rio Games.

Devendra won gold in the javelin event at the 2004 Athens Paralympics with a record throw of 62.15 metres, becoming only the second gold medallist at the Paralympics for his country, and improved upon it with an attempt of 63.97 metres at the Olympic Stadium (Engenhao) in Rio on Tuesday.

Ranji Trophy starts from 6 October and to be played in neutral venues


According to the fixtures of the domestic tournaments announced by the BCCI, All the matches in the upcoming Ranji trophy cricket tournament will be played in neutral venues.

The BCCI on Friday annouced the fixtures of the domestic tournaments for senior, junior and women to be played in 2016-2017 season. BCCI's technical committee headed by Sourav Ganguly, had recommended to hold the matches of its premier domestic championship at neutral venues in may this year to make it more competitive.

Dhoni and Company lose by 1 run

Chasing a huge total of 246 runs, India suffered a run defeat. Last Ged needed 2 runs, Dhoni was at the crease, he fell victim to the last ball Slovr Bravo and Team India suffered a run defeat. India record biggest Test series win on Caribbean soil but lose No.1 spot to Pakistan

Indian cricket team on Monday recorded their biggest Test series win on the Caribbean soil with a 2-0 victory over the West Indies but ended up losing the number one spot in the ICC rankings in Port of Spain. Only 22 overs of play was possible on the opening day of the final Test match, which turned out to be the third shortest ever Test match in the history of longer format. For the fourth successive day, not a single ball could be bowled, forcing the umpires to call off the match.

Salman Khan pledges over Rs 1 lakh to each of India's Rio athletes

India is experiencing a forgetful campaign at the ongoing Rio Olympics despite of sending its largestever contingent to the Olympics. The athletes have failed to win a single medal at the Rio Games, currently in its 12th day. Star archers and shooters have disappointed while the men's and women's hockey teams were handed defeats. Tennis stars Sania Mirza, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna too failed to provide joy to the nation. The only bright spot in India's campaign have been gymnast Dipa Karmakar, shooter Abhinav Bindra and shuttlers PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth.
